THE UNDERGROUND VAULT
The Underground Vault formed in 2016 with members Blair dollery (front man/lead guitarist) Jamie dove (guitar) Pete sadler (bass guitar) Dan young (drums) coming together to form the blues rock riff based band.
Blair, Jamie and Dan had been in a previous band together and knew each other very well so Pete was the new kid :)
Once the decision had been made to form Blair quickly got to work on writing some guitar riffs, he then met with Jamie to form the rest of the songs arrangement wise and lyrically.
They met for their first official rehearsal shortly afterwards and it became very clear that something very special had just happened, it seemed easy and the songs sounded amazing very fast.
They booked into a local studio to record drums for their debut EP and then recorded all the guitars and vocals at Blair's home studio, this EP was dawnbreaker.
The EP hit the online community and a lot of gig offers came in as people were blown away by the EP. We have been gigging all around London and outer London performing at prestigious festivals such as Ealing blues festival and st mags fair and the band is growing and gaining rave reviews.
We decided to go back into the studio and record our second EP "in the water" which gets released 15/09/2018 on all major platforms.
Our influences range from 60s blues/rock to 90s britpop rock.
Blair, Jamie and Pete grew up in the 90s and witnessed fully the powerful britpop/rock explosion that bands like Oasis, Blur, The verve, Cast created and it inspired what was at that time a lost generation of youngsters with no inspiration. Blair personally was completely inspired by these bands and studied the guitar to learn their songs, riffs and solos.....then suddenly he was handed two cassettes, one was Derek and the dominoes and the other was jimi Hendrix experience..... Suddenly Blair's mind was blown, doors opened in his head and the guitar took a path to a more bluesy hard rock edge, he learnt from the greats such as Clapton, Hendrix, peter green and now injects that naturally into his playing which gives the band its bluesy feel.
The band are now hitting new levels of playing and performing making them a joy to listen to and thrilling to watch! Nothing will stop them giving the people what they want, which is a REAL alternative to the commercial pop rubbish we are fed on mainstream radio.
